Things you might be wondering...
A naturopath is a qualified health practitioner trained in natural medicine, nutrition, and herbal therapeutics, working to identify and address the root causes behind your symptoms rather than just naming them. I can help with a genuinely wide range of presentations — hormonal changes, gut health, energy and fatigue, sleep, nervous system regulation, and the broader shifts of midlife and beyond — always working alongside your GP, not replacing them.
Hot flushes tend to get the most attention, but they rarely travel alone. Night sweats — hot flushes severe enough to wake you drenched — are extremely common, and often drive the sleep disruption that follows: trouble falling asleep, or waking repeatedly through the night. Brain fog (memory lapses, forgetfulness, trouble focusing) and mood changes — irritability, anxiety, or low mood — round out the pattern most women recognise. If several of these feel familiar together, that's genuinely worth exploring, not just managing symptom by symptom.
If you're new here, start with The Foundation — your Blueprint and 30-day protocol set the real groundwork, and for some women that's genuinely enough on its own. From there, many choose to continue with The Breakthrough (Tier 2's 90-day program) or The Nervous System Reset (6 sessions), depending on what your Blueprint reveals is the real priority for you.Still not sure? A complimentary 15-minute Clarity Call is the easiest way to figure it out together.
Everyone starts with The Foundation — a 90-minute deep-dive that properly investigates your whole picture, followed by your own personalised Blueprint. If you'd rather talk it through first, a complimentary 15-minute Clarity Call is a great way to start that conversation.
Your first appointment is Foundation — a genuinely unhurried 90-minute deep-dive into your full history, current symptoms, and what's really going on in your life right now. From there, you'll receive a personalised "Dots Connected" Blueprint report, a natural medicine prescription for your first 30 days, and a follow-up call within 14 days to refine your plan together.
Pay-as-you-go single sessions are reserved for existing and returning clients — for a top-up, a follow-up between programs, or something acute that's come up. If this is your first time here, the best starting point is Foundation — a 90-minute deep-dive where we properly investigate your whole picture, followed by your own personalised Blueprint. It's not about a bigger commitment; it's about getting you a genuinely accurate, connected starting point, rather than guessing at one piece in isolation.
They're genuinely different in depth and focus, not just format. The Resilient Reset Group is a 4-week taste of the whole Dots Connected Method — how your systems connect, your daily levers, and the deeper mind-work — alongside other women, built for connection and structure. The Nervous System Reset is a bespoke, 1-to-1 program going deep specifically into nervous system regulation — weekly over 6 sessions, or fortnightly over up to 12 weeks, whichever suits your capacity. It can stand on its own if regulation is clearly your priority, or follow on from Foundation or run alongside another program. Neither is "better" — it comes down to whether you want a broad taste alongside others, or focused, individual depth on this one piece.
Yes. This work spans the full journey — from early perimenopause in your 30s and 40s, through the transition itself, and into the years beyond. You don't need a diagnosis or a specific stage to start; if something feels off, that's reason enough to begin the conversation.
It genuinely varies — some women notice a shift within the first couple of weeks, especially with sleep or energy; other changes, particularly hormonal ones, take longer to unfold properly. Foundation is designed to give you real clarity on your own timeline, based on what's actually driving your presentation.
Genuinely real differences worth knowing. A naturopath's training is broader — combining nutrition with herbal medicine, functional testing, and a root-cause approach across multiple body systems, not diet alone. Nutritionists and dietitians specialise specifically in food and nutrition, often within a narrower clinical or medical scope. Which is the better fit depends on what you're genuinely looking for.
Not at all. I've worked with women well into their 70s and 80s, genuinely new to this way of working — it's never too late to start. We'll always have an honest conversation about what's realistically achievable for you specifically. If you're reading this on behalf of your mum, that's a wonderful place to start too.
If it's been six months or more since we last worked together, I'd usually suggest starting fresh with a Foundation session and Blueprint, rather than resuming where we left off. A lot can shift in six months — your body, your circumstances, what's actually driving things now — so a fresh look means we're working from what's true for you today, not assuming the old picture still
Alongside, always. This work complements your medical care rather than replacing it — functional lab testing is used for biochemical wellness mapping, not as a substitute for your GP's diagnostic investigations or treatment. Many clients find their GP and I working together gives them the most complete picture.
Both are available, and it genuinely depends on what you need. Some clients start with a single Foundation consultation for clarity and direction; others want the deeper, ongoing partnership of a 90-day program, or a 6-month partnership that can continue in further 6-month blocks as needed. We'll figure out together what fits your situation.
My aim is to get you feeling relief quickly, while also understanding the root causes behind your overall presentation — particularly around hormones, nervous system regulation, gut health, metabolic and cardiovascular health, and the broader shifts of midlife and beyond. Two women can present with the same symptoms but have very different underlying triggers and drivers, which is exactly why we look past the label to what's actually going on for you. Not sure if what you're experiencing fits? Send a quick email, or book a complimentary 15-minute Clarity Call and we can talk it through.
Often yes, but it genuinely depends on the specific medications and herbs involved — some real interactions do exist, which is exactly why a thorough medication and health history is part of every intake. I check this carefully before recommending anything, and will always flag if something needs a conversation with your GP or pharmacist first.
No — functional lab testing is recommended and organised within a consultation, not done independently. This is because the results need proper clinical interpretation to be genuinely useful, rather than raw numbers with no context. Once we have your results, they're often best supported through a structured program — like Tier 2, The Breakthrough — where we work through what the results actually mean for your specific priorities and build a plan around them.
I'm not part of the mainstream medical profession, so I can't order blood tests directly. What I can do is recommend exactly which markers to look at, based on your presentation — you can then either self-request and pay for these through a service like LabTests, or take my recommendations to your GP, who may be willing to write the request for you.
Yes, absolutely. Testing is helpful, but it's not the only path to progress — as part of your consultation, we can talk through what's realistic for you and work with your personal investment situation, not against it. We appreciate that financial stress is often part of the health picture itself, not separate from it, so this is a genuine conversation, not a barrier.
Yes — location isn't a barrier. Consultations run just as effectively over Zoom or phone as they do in person, and your supplements can be couriered directly to you wherever you are.
Of course — phone works just as well, no Zoom required at all. If you'd like to try Zoom, you don't need to download anything — just click the link in your invite and join straight through your browser, on any device. There's no pressure either way — whatever's most comfortable for you is the right choice.
No problem at all — Zoom and phone consultations work just as well as in-person, whatever the reason you're not able to come in. The only thing to note is that supplement courier delivery may occasionally take a little longer than in-person collection.
Easy — if you don't need a follow-up consult, just email your order through. Payment can be made by credit card or direct bank deposit details will be provided with your order confirmation; if you're picking up in person, Eftpos is also available. Once payment is made, it'll be sent out to you. Auckland clients who'd prefer to collect can use the pickup box available outside the clinic. If you'd like a reassessment or have questions about your protocol, you can book a 15-minute Dispensary Support session ($50).
We understand life happens, so just let us know as soon as you can. Giving 48 hours' notice is genuinely helpful, since it lets us offer your space to another client. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, a 20% cancellation or rebooking fee applies.
Yes, there's street parking available. You'll generally find something within a short walk of the clinic.
At this stage, naturopathic consultations and supplements generally aren't covered by standard health insurance or ACC, as this work sits outside conventional medical care. It's always worth checking your own policy directly, as some providers do cover complementary health services — but I'm not able to provide ACC-recognised claims or insurance documentation at this time.

" Overwhelm & anxiety "
“I am so thankful I made the choice to be seeing Karen as my health and wellness coach. I was feeling out of sorts and struggling with overwhelm and anxiety. Since menopause I have felt older and grumpier and somewhat stuck in how to feel more alive. Karen is amazing at listening and giving the right advice that seems the best fit for me on each part of the wellness journey. I highly recommend Karen as a partner on your journey of health and reclaiming your life over 60.”
